Kane,PA Car show was Great!

Had a great time at the car show in  Kane, PA at Evergreen Park.
Big Thanks to Nick and Linda and friends who got this show together. It is all about networking and the passion for old cars and motorcycles. One guy even chopped a bike with a honda motor in it.

Since I am restoring my Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I got some excellent information and ideas on some thing I want to do for my jeep. So if you see any Jeep Grand Wagoneers out there let me know I will buy them.

Shipping to Canada via US Post OFFICE

Ok, Canucks bikers,
According to the US POSTAL SERVICE, I only need to fill out Form # CN22. Once the Leather Cleaning Formula is declared, it is up to The Canadian Customs Department to send it on through to you. However, it may take 30days to forever according to some of the horror stories I have heard about shipping things to our northern american neighbors.

UPS and FED -X are triple the shipping charges. I already checked them out.
So let's try good old US Postal Service.

Why use sheep oil on cow leather? Are you Crazy!

What is the difference between sheep oil and cow oil?  Why would you want to put sheep oil on cow leather?  COW to COW. My product only uses Cow oil. Most of the name brands, which I cannot name, use sheep oil in their products. It's like oil and water. They do not mix.

Let me educate you on the difference.

Lanolin is made from sheep byproducts. It is found in all the name brand products.

You will want to use products...MY PRODUCTs...that contain Cow oil.
Cow oil is made from shin bone and feet of the cow but not the hoofs.
Cow oil is used in the conditioning, softening and preservative agent for cow leather.
It protects the leather.

That is the difference!

You mean to tell me there are no real bikers in Elk County. What's the saying?  "$20 Grand and a bike Does not make your a Biker!"  Hell.

My formula works on my back brace,too!

Yesterday, I tried my leather cleaning formula on my back brace. It looks like new. Wow! I am finding not only can you use this on motorcycles leather, but any other type of leather.

I am still marketing biker by biker.
The Ad I place got zero results.
I don't get it. I got a great leather cleaning formula and no one wants to use it.

I will be sharing a table with my friend who does the car show in august.
So that will get me out in the public.

Google Adwords Fed up & Advertising

Ok, I have had it with Google Adwords. It still does not accept my web link even if I use the blogspot.com address above.  On the positive note....at least I am saving some money.

I started my Advertising Campaign. I have one ad in the local auto connections zine for a month.
I will keep track of the hits.

Second is a big "Community Sale" the end of May in the next town. I sent my application in to
get a space to sell my formula.

I will be working with disabled vets as soon as I get their non-profit information.

Summer Promotions Coming IN.Google Accepted -You Tube must be redone.

Well finally got accepted for Google Adwords after I figured out the problem and reported it to techy. Now the new revalations....I have to do a whole new promotion campaign for TheYouTube. Whatever you do, please DO NOT DELEATE a video. You are toast an have to start all over again. Lesson Learned Big Time!

Ok, I am getting calls to attend car shows, and county celebrations. for the summer months.
I have also been doing one on one biz cards to any biker I see on the road, at a gas station,
at the restaurant, etc. where ever there is a biker, I give them my biz card.

Google Adword and Sense-UPdate

Ok, I had to re-edit my ad. Then I figured out I have to remove the amazon ad one and see if google will replace it.I reread the step by step training help.waiting to see if that will work. UPDATE: Ok the Google Adword keeps kicking out my approval because my url address is to long and does not fit into that space. The blogspot.com keeps getting cut off so the computer will automatic kick it out. This is a C++ code flaw. The tech support has to add more spaces for my ADWord to get accepted. I cannot shorten my name because it is my biz name and everything I have done so far is about the name brand. Well, I shot off and help email to them and will see if they can put it in themselves. I also put the problem into the discussion forum. I will keep ya posted. LABikermama

Google shopping cart UP and Working!

Well after getting a very nice email from the Google Checkout people, who answered all my questions, I have the shopping cart up and working on the Products page to the left. So I can take Credit Cards now!

This has been quite a process and learning experience for me,especially the youtube stuff that I am still trying to figure out.

Now I am promote and market my product.

Well today I worked on getting the video on the youtube website. At first my little movie would not upload. I found out that with windows movie maker you have to save it to the "web upload" format to get a wmv/avi tag on the end of that. Once I got that formated into my little movie it uploaded right away.

Also since I am google base, and I want to be loyal to them for having such an easy blog to work with, I was looking for a shopping cart under google stores. Yesterday, the hometown cop even asked me for my leather cleaner. So word is getting around that they like my leather cleaning formula. Yea!

New Batch Make and Movie Making Update!

Just made my new batch of "Bikermama Leather Cleaning". Got the process down pretty good. Every bottle has the exact same amount of formula!

Whew! This movie making is something else. I am learning a lot on have to codex a file format from word to picture Jpeg. It is very time consuming. I am getting it to work. When I am satified that it has all the information and the bells and whistles I will be posting with the YouTube people.

The neighbor is a buzzin with cycle noise!

Learning Movie Making and Sold Cleaner on the Road

Yea! I sold a couple more BLC bottles today. Meet with my cousin and he bought one. Then when I was gasing up "Mr. Bonez" my truck, a guy with a dirty leather jacket was next to me and I asked him how does he clean his jacket. He said he was just talking to his wife about that and I show him my stuff and he bought right there. Makes me feel like I'm on the right road to success!

Well, I am trying to get something on youtube. I was looking for a "How to make a movie on the computer" and found out that windowsxp has a "movie maker". I had to search for it and then shortcut it to the desktop to get into it. I like it because it is easy! So I will be working on this project to get some up to youtube before the end of the month.

I'll be making my product today or tomorrow.

Shipped my First two orders! Yea! Yea!

Today I shipped my first two orders to my biker buddies in good, old, San Diego, CA. YEA! I then went to the biker neighbors and they bought my leather cleaning product. They are getting the itch to ride again. I hear the loud pipes as I write my post. I get just as excited as they do even if I will never ride again because of my disability! Hey, I am Always a biker no matter what!

Worked the Magic Today!

Worked the magic today and found out a few more things. One my formula works. I put it up against the test with a national brand leather cleaning and it came out the same if not better. The test was my beat up,old, torn, worn out pair of chaps. After I buffed it out I did add one more step to make it shine a little better.
I went down to the dollar store and bought one of those "quick-shine" sponages. I wiped that on my chaps and got a shine on top of the cleaning. The national brand still was a bit dull. I then put it on the other leg and had my sister chose which leg was my product and which was the brand. On the chaps, boots, and gloves she picked my product.  Then I went and got my neighbor and ask him to tell the difference. He picked my product, and he is a Biker!

So, I got my formula worked out. I have to let it sit for a couple of days and see if it will work again.
It was still warm when I applied it. So I want to see what will happen when I let it sit for a couple of days.
And you thought I was kidding when I said I had to do some cooking.!

Ok, I am going to add that last step to my "How to Apply" pages and I am done for today.

OK, I just got my domain name registration from The GoDaddy people. Not a bad price. Best one I have found on the net. Now, I guess I have to find a hosting site or see if my favorite blogger page can accept the link. Ok, I found a Fed-ex and a UPS Drop off box in the next town. So if you want to ship you jackets, chaps etc and add a return shipping label I can do that. Also, I can stuff my jacket into a USPostal box of "One rate ships all" box. That box went for 15 bucks.

So yes, I am ready for accepting mailing jackets, etc.
All you have to do is put an enevolope with the cash and the return label in the biker jacket or box
label it and have your return address and phone number listed. That way if there is any problems I can call you.

T-shirt Design. What do ya think?

rying out this web T-shirt design. Not to hard to make. I could go color but it is too, way too expensive.
What do you think? How does it look in Black and White? Do you think it is to much to have it on both the front and back? I am thinking that it is OK because I can have it showing on the front because of my back brace. Other people may like it on the back. I am up in the air on it. I kind of like it for the price. I will have to look around for less expensive printing of T-shirts. I am thinking of getting about 20-25 of them, or just get one at a time when someone wants to buy it, but not at this price. When you order more the price should drop not go up. I am still doing my homework on this. Well, what is your take on it?

Today's the Day!

"Today's the Day!" Mr. Mel Fisher said that all the time. Today I am looking for a leather sewing machine.
I will also be adding to the biz a repair of Motorcycle jacket zippers. And if they have the old "bomber-style" jackets I can sew the cuffs and the waist bands.

So to date this is what I can do:
1. Clean Motorcycle Jackets, chaps, saddle bags,  boots + accessories.
2. Sell my stuff to clean Horse "Tack & Saddle" equiptment.
3. Repair Motorcycle Jacket zippers.
4  Repair other leather jackets cuff and waist bands.

That should be enough to get started.

That is my new "signature" for my emails. I am thinking about adding a (mail-order cleaning service) to my business. I have a lot of biker buddies in CA that want to ship their jackets. Also, I was asked to clean some "Tack & Saddle" leather. That my friend, is a lot of work. I am thinking that I will just sell them the cleaners and conditioners and let the Horse Lovers do it themselves. These motorcycle jackets take up a lot of time cleaning them by hand.
 
Like I said in the by-line, I am just about ready to launch the "Open" for Biz sign. I am waiting for a few more items I ordered. An old garment rack to hang the jackets on. etc.
 
Now, I have to go shovel snow!

My leather supplies are starting to arrive today.

I did about 2 hours of research today on the "How to's" of cleaning leather. Whew! got a lot of work ahead of me. My business card arrived today. They look great. I am sending them out to all my friends and biker buddies in California and around the world.

Also got a box of old leather tools and needles from Briton. Man, they do not make needles like these anymore. Had a couple from china but they broke after a couple of passes.  The guy is looking for some more leather tools in his shed.

 I am tracking down a couple of "Home-made" receipes for the conditioner and cleaner. I am also looking for an old Ironning board, garment rake, small one, and an old cloth makers mamiquine (manikin). There is the supplies update. The sooner I get my stuff organize the faster I can start advertising.

OH, yea, I am getting my supplies ready for my launching in Feb 2010. I will post the dates I can put the "OPEN" sign on the door. Just getting everthing organized and in it's place so I don't have to take an hour to find something.
